Protected tip for TERS and process for its production

摘要

A protected tip for apertureless near-field optical applications is disclosed. The protected tip comprises an SPM tip having a metallic surface (11) and at least one protective coating (20) of a dielectric material applied to the metallic surface. The protective coating is linked to the metallic surface by a self-assembled layer (30) of organic linker molecules.
