The present invention relates to an electrical outlet and a plug having an optical communication function. The electrical outlet having an optical communication function is a wall-mounted or a multi-socket electrical outlet into which a plug of a household electrical appliance having a power terminal is plugged to distribute commercial power, and comprises: a first connection groove (a socket) to which the power terminal is connected; and a second connection groove (a socket) separated from the first connection groove and connected to an external optical line, to which an optical communication terminal can be connected. The plug having an optical communication function includes a pair of power terminals separated from each other and a neutral terminal, and comprises an optical communication terminal formed on a position facing the power terminals and the neutral terminal and separated from the power terminals and the neutral terminal. A data signal transmitted through an optical line can be transmitted to an optical network unit (ONU) directly connected to the optical communication terminal without passing through an optical transmitter (OTX) to reduce expenses, allow a user to conveniently use optical communication anywhere simply by connecting the plug to the electrical outlet, and resolve inconvenience of signal conversion by the optical transmitter. |
