An object is to easily insert a puncture needle into a pericardial cavity while reliably preventing a blade tip of the puncture needle from being brought into contact with the heart. Provided is a puncture needle (1) that includes: an elongated approximately-linear main body (2); a distal end portion (3) that is located at a distal end of the main body (2) and that has a blade surface (31) formed of a distal end surface which is formed inclined with respect to a longitudinal direction; and a bending portion (4) that is provided between the main body (2) and the distal end portion (3) to connect the main body (2) to the distal end portion (3) and that can be passively bent in response to an external force. The distal end portion (3) functions as a bending-direction control means for setting a bending direction of the bending portion (4) to a direction in which the blade surface (31) is made to face toward an inner side of a bent shape. |
