The present invention is to provide a constitutive equation selection method to suggest the most suitable constitutive equation with simple information regarding a metal material. The constitutive equation selection method for selecting a constitutive equation showing mechanical behavior of a metal alloy through a terminal, according to the present invention, comprises: a test data acquisition step of acquiring data on stress-strain rate with a tension test by using a plurality of materials and storing the data in a terminal; a parameter calculation step of calculating and storing a parameter of a constitutive equation through the terminal by using the obtained actual stress-strain rate data; a material information input step of storing the name of a material by the terminal; an error extraction step of extracting an error of the allowable strength and ultimate strength corresponding to the material inputted by the terminal; and a constitutive equation determination step of outputting a constitutive equation showing the lowest error among the errors extracted in the previous step.
