<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner capable of obtaining an image with high quality under various environments, even for a recording medium having low surface smoothness over a long period of time. <P>SOLUTION: A toner includes a binder resin and a wax. In the toner, a surface tension index X of the toner to 45 volume% methanol aqueous solution measured by a capillary suction time method and calculated by a formula (1) below is 1.0×10<SP POS="POST">-1</SP>N/m or smaller. Transmissivity Y in a fluid dispersion obtained by dispersing the toner in the 45 volume% methanol aqueous solution measured at temperature 25°C at wavelength 600 nm is 20% or larger. The surface tension index X and the transmissivity Y satisfy a formula (2) below: A toner surface tension index X(N/m)=Pα/(A×B×10<SP POS="POST">3</SP>) ... (1); logX-3.2×10<SP POS="POST">-2</SP>×Y+3.3≥0.0 ... (2), in which Pα represents a toner capillary pressure (kN/m<SP POS="POST">2</SP>) to a 45 volume% methanol aqueous solution, A represents a toner specific surface area (m<SP POS="POST">2</SP>/g), and B represents a toner true density (g/cm<SP POS="POST">3</SP>). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
