PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silica particle material excellent in handleability and a surface treatment method for surface-treating a silica particle to obtain a silica particle material excellent in handleability.SOLUTION: A silica particle material is obtained by surface-treating a silica particle with a silane coupling agent and an organosilazane. The ratio of the number of existence of X(phenyl group, vinyl group, epoxy group, methacrylic group, amino group, ureido group, isocyanate group or acrylic group) to the number of existence of R (1-3C alkyl groups) present in the surface of the silica particle material is adjusted within a specified range by adjusting the mol ratio of the silane coupling agent to the organosilazane so as to achieve affinity for resins and suppression of coagulation at the same time. |
