The radiator 1 is particularly suitable as a base-board radiator and comprises a panel 2. The panel has a longitudinal axis 3, preferably horizontal, and a lateral axis 4, preferably vertical. In use, a first surface 7 of the panel faces a wall and at least one longitudinally extending conduit 9 carrying a heating fluid such as hot water is adjacent to the first surface and ideally has an oval bore 10. The radiator further comprises first 12 and second 13 longitudinally extending and laterally spaced rails for attachment to the wall. During installation, the panel is inserted in between the first and second rails, the panel forming a snap-fit engagement with each of the rails. The first rail is preferably generally C-shaped and the second rail generally L-shaped. The rails ideally comprise a web (23,30, figures 4-5) having bores 26,29 to receive screws to fix the rails to the wall. A first cover member (40, figure 4) and second cover member (112, figure 5) may be provided, the first and second cover members engaging with the first and second rails, respectively, in a snap-fit engagement. A radiator having an elongate rail, panel and cover member is also claimed. |
