The present application regards a slicing apparatus for cutting elongate food such as sausage, cheese, meat or loaves of bread into slices, in particular for simultaneously slicing at least two pieces of food by means of a cutting blade. At least one movable food gripper is provided which can be operated by means of a stationary drive, where the mechanical work for seizing the food is transferred to the gripper via further drive means 40. The slicing apparatus comprises, a feed unit (9, figure 1) for feeding the food (10, figure 1) to the cutting blade (7, figure 1), at least one gripper carriage (20, figure 2) comprising a gripper receiving beam (22, figure 3) and at least one movable gripper 21. The grippers may be provided with pneumatic or electric servo motor actuation. Furthermore, the gripper carriage may be moved along the feed axis by means of a toothed drive belt (26, figure 2). |
