<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic apparatus which can easily select an operation mode to be used in hand gesture recognition. <P>SOLUTION: According to an embodiment, face detection means recognizes a face in a video photographed with a camera, and detects a position of the face in the video. Hand shape detection means recognizes a hand in a first shape in the video, and detects a position of the hand in the first shape in the video. Operation mode selection means calculates a first value showing a relative position of the detected position of the hand in the first shape to the detected position of the face, and selects a first operation mode from among a plurality of operation modes on the basis of the first value. Hand gesture recognition means recognizes the shape and motions of a hand relevant to a hand gesture which should be used in the selected first operation mode by using the video, and controls operation of an electronic apparatus according to recognition results. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
