An apparatus (1) for producing a motor coil is to produce a coil (10) to be used for a stator of a motor by automatically winding a flat rectangular conductive wire (15) by use of a winding machine (2). This apparatus (1) comprises: an uncoiler (3) for feeding the conductive wire (15) wound and accumulated on a bobbin (19) to the winding machine (2); an inertia measuring device (32) for measuring inertia of the uncoiler (3) when feeding the conductive wire (15); chucks (6) and (7) for measuring a resistance value of the conductive wire (15); and an operating console (4) for setting the winding condition of the rectangular wire (15) to be wound by the winding machine (2) based on the measured inertia and the measured resistance value. The operating console (4) controls the winding machine (2) based on the set winding condition to wind the conductive wire (15).
