The present invention relates to a method of identifying a type of aircraft by using a range-Doppler image. The method comprises the steps of: transmitting electromagnetic waves towards an aircraft using a radar, and receiving a signal reflected from the aircraft; extracting a first signal having a Doppler frequency of 0 Hz from the reflected signal, and a second signal having a Doppler frequency of non-zero Hz from the reflected signal; calculating the length of the aircraft using the first signal; calculating the number of engines included in the aircraft and a distance between the engines using the second signal; searching an aircraft corresponding to the above aircraft based on the length of the aircraft, the number of engines, and the distance between the engines, in a database; and outputting a type of the aircraft according to the search result. According to the present invention, a plurality of characteristics of the aircraft may be calculated by using the reflected signal from the aircraft, and a type of the aircraft may be identified with high accuracy by using the plurality of characteristics. |
