PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium transport device simple in configuration, and capable of preventing a pair of transport rollers or an image surface of a recording medium from being contaminated by undried ink and preventing occurrence of the contamination of a recording medium tip end, and to provide an image formation apparatus including the same.SOLUTION: A recording medium transport device includes: a recording medium transport passage; and a transport member arranged on the recording medium transport passage, and including a roller contacting an image surface formed on a recording medium by liquid ink and a nip forming member forming a nip part by being press-contacted by the roller. The roller and the nip forming member rotate in a state in which the recording medium is put between the roller and the nip forming member in a nip part, thereby transporting the recording medium. The roller includes: a roller main body; and an irregular layer having many convex portions formed on an outer circumferential surface of the roller main body, and point-contacting or surface-contacting the recording medium. A tip end of the recording medium transported on the recording medium transport passage enters the nip part after contacting an outer circumferential surface of the roller. |
