PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaluation method of acquiring a direct fracture toughness value from a monitoring test piece of pressure vessel steel in a conventional BWR.SOLUTION: Mechanical notches 11, 12, 13 are introduced into a parallel portion of a monitoring tensile test piece 7 with the parallel portion formed at its center. Thereafter, a test piece into which a fatigue precrack is introduced is manufactured and then, a bending test or a tensile test is performed to acquire a fracture toughness value from the maximum load resulting in breakage of the test piece. |
