<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a music selection apparatus capable of automatically playing back music suitable for updated content linked with update of the content such as a blog and writing on a network, a music selection method and a music selection program. <P>SOLUTION: A music selection apparatus 130 selects the music suitable for conditions from a plurality of pieces of music which can be played back, and includes a music selection part 135 which selects the music with a high degree of association to the updated content based on a result obtained by comparing first text information to be obtained from the updated content with second text information to be obtained from accumulated music data on the network.
