An air conditioner for a vehicle is disclosed in which a coupling structure between an upper case and a lower case is improved to reduce the size of the lower case while satisfying the height of a leak prevention requirement. The air conditioner for a vehicle comprises: an air conditioner case in which an upper case and a lower case are coupled; and an evaporator which is installed in the air conditioner case, wherein the a coupled portion between the upper case and the lower case is configured to satisfy the height of a leak prevention requirement, one of the upper case and the lower case is provided with a first groove, and the other is provided with a first protrusion inserted to the first groove. The inner wall extension portion which extends upward from the side wall end of the lower case and covers the inside of the side wall of the upper case for more than the required height of leak prevention is provided. Accordingly, it is possible to reduce the height of the lower case while satisfying the required height of leak prevention, it is possible to reduce the mold size to reduce manufacturing costs, and it is possible to maximize the leak prevention effect. |
