The present invention relates to an apparatus for machining a screw for a lathe, which can machine a small screw easily by adjusting the rotational direction of a main shaft by being installed in the lathe. The apparatus for machining the screw for the lathe includes: a fixed part which is installed on a tail stock of the lathe; a machining part which is rotationally installed in the fixed part, and comprises a dice for screw machining on a plane opposite to the main shaft of the lathe; a protruding part which protrudes radially from the outer surface of one of the fixed part and the machining part; and a guide part which is prepared on the outer surface of the other of the fixed part and the machining part, and is extended toward the protruding part in order to be interfered with the rotational direction of the protruding part. The machining part rotates on the fixed part under the state that the protruding part is not in contact with the guide part, and moves toward or away from the fixed part under the state that the protruding part is in contact with the guide part.
