<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophoretic display device capable of preventing a reduction in contrast and of displaying desired colors while being provided with desired resistance strength against force applied to a surface, and further to provide a manufacturing method of the electrophoretic display device capable of easily manufacturing the electrophoretic display by using existing techniques. <P>SOLUTION: An electrophoretic display device of the present invention comprises: partition walls that are disposed between a first substrate and a second substrate disposed opposite to each other and have reflectivity while having a plurality of cells corresponding to pixel regions; an electrophoretic layer that is configured such that an electrophoretic material is held in each of the plurality of cells; first electrodes provided on an electrophoretic layer side surface of the first substrate; a second electrode provided on an electrophoretic layer side surface of the second substrate; and reflecting portions that are provided corresponding to each of the plurality of cells in the partition walls and have inclined surfaces inclined at a predetermined inclination angle θ toward cell sides with respect to a normal direction perpendicular to surfaces of the first substrate and the second substrate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
