<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solenoid in which the number of windings of a coil is increased without enlarging the external size of the solenoid and strength to be necessary for a coil bobbin can be secured while increasing such attracting force that a plunger is attracted to an attraction surface by magnetic force thereof. <P>SOLUTION: A second outside diameter part 322 of the coil bobbin 3 is continuously connected to a first outside diameter part 321, is used as the outer peripheral surface of the coil bobbin 3, and starts to be parted from the sliding surface A in the direction parallel to the center axis O of each of the coil bobbin 3 and the plunger 2.
