<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the reproductivity of a waveform of a drive signal in driving a liquid ejection head including a plurality of liquid ejecting nozzles and a plurality of actuators provided so as to correspond to the plurality of nozzles. <P>SOLUTION: A drive circuit for driving the liquid ejection head includes: a modulation circuit for modulating the pulse of a drive waveform signal that is a reference of a drive signal for driving an actuator by a pulse density modulation system to transform the drive waveform signal into a modulation signal; a digital power amplifier circuit for amplifying the power of the modulation signal to transform the modulation signal into a power amplified modulation signal; and a smoothing filter for smoothing the power amplified modulation signal to transform the power amplified modulation signal into a drive signal.
