<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent malfunction caused by a setting error by enabling a recorder, which makes a recording head perform scan on a recording medium, to perform recording on the recording medium having a level difference which changes in thickness according to the position of the level difference. <P>SOLUTION: A printer which performs recording on the recording medium having a binding part includes: a recording head 18 which is mounted on a carriage; a gap roller which is mounted on the carriage together with the recording head 18, and comes into contact with a recording surface of the recording medium to set a gap between the recording surface and the recording head 18; a carriage driving motor 35 which makes the carriage perform the scan back and forth on the recording medium; a CPU 61 which controls the carriage driving motor 35; and a flash memory 64 which is configured to store a binding part area W set in advance so as to include the binding parts of a plurality of recording media which can be recorded by the printer 10. The CPU 61 controls the carriage driving motor 35 to make the carriage perform the scan at lower speed in the binding part area than on the outside of the binding part area. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
