PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper conveying apparatus etc. capable of applying different deformation imparting force to paper by a deformation imparting roll according to the difference of thickness when a plurality of conveying roll pairs are rotated in a normal rotating direction, and reducing the deformation imparting force to the paper by the deformation imparting roll when the plurality of conveying roll pairs are rotated in a reverse rotating direction in comparison with the deformation imparting force applied when the conveying roll pairs are rotated in the normal rotating direction.SOLUTION: The paper conveying apparatus includes an elastic support member that has a guide hole shaped to guide a rotating shaft of a deformation imparting rotation body corotated in contact with a part of the paper conveyed being held between the plurality of conveying roll pairs, into a deformation imparting position to rotatably support the rotating shaft when the conveying roll pairs are rotated in the normal rotating direction, while guiding the rotating shaft into a deformation impartation reducing position to rotatably support the rotating shaft when the conveying roll pairs are rotated in the reverse rotating direction. The elastic support member is elastically deformed by the force received when the deformation imparting rotation body contacts the paper conveyed by the conveying roll pairs, and pushes the guide hole in a direction to approach the rotating shaft of the conveying roll on one side. |
