A system (10) and method of monitoring with temperature stabilization. The system (10) can include a housing (40) operably connected to a fiber optic cable (32) that provides a light wave thereto, a relay optic (30) for receiving the light wave and being positioned in the housing (40), a radiation device (36) for processing or producing radiation in the frequency range of 10 GHz to 100 THz from the light wave and being positioned in the housing (40), a temperature sensor (250) in thermal communication with the housing (40), and a thermal management device (200, 600, 700) in thermal communication with the housing (40). The thermal management device (200, 600, 700) can adjust a temperature within the housing (40) based on temperature conditions measured by the temperature sensor (250).
