The system (10) has a monitoring unit (20) for detecting a tool (11) and determining actual condition of the tool, where the tool is provided with a detectable element e.g. transponder (12), magnetic strip (12'), and identification code (12''). The monitoring unit compares the actual condition of the tool with a threshold condition and signalizes deviation of the actual condition from the threshold condition. The monitoring unit has a detection device e.g. reading device (13), and camera (14), for detecting the detectable element of the tool. An independent claim is also included for a method for monitoring tools. |
