A power transmission device for a vehicle is configured in such a manner that a transmission case (11) which houses crank-type transmission units is provided with column-like sections (11e) for connecting the opposing inner surfaces (11d) of the peripheral walls (11c) which connect a first wall section (11a) and a second wall section (11b). The column-like sections (11e) increase the rigidity of the peripheral walls (11c) and prevent the occurrence of membrane surface vibration, reducing noise while minimizing an increase in weight to a minimum level. In addition, because the column-like sections (11e) are arranged between the connecting rods (33) of the transmission units (14), the column-like sections (11e) are prevented from interferring with the connecting rods (33). |
