<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To address deterioration in display luminance and deterioration in visibility at dark environment when displaying a multicolor microcapsule type electrophoretic display layer of a reflection type display. <P>SOLUTION: A color electrophoretic display device includes: a light source 2; a transparent light guide plate 4 formed with an electrode layer on a transparent substrate that introduces light from the light source to the inside and causes the surface of an electrophoretic display layer 15 to exit the light; and a color filter layer 10 and the electrophoretic display layer 15 configured between the transparent light guide plate 4 formed with the electrode layer and a back electrode substrate 19 disposed to face the color filter layer 10. This configuration can prevent deterioration in the display luminance and visibility and provide the color electrophoretic display device being visible in a dark place. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
