<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a media conveyance device or the like, being the media conveyance device for a sheet-like substance held as a roll, that can correctly obtain the diameter of the roll necessary for controlling the conveyance without requiring time. <P>SOLUTION: In the media conveyance device having a drive roller that holds the sheet-like substance as a roll to feed out the sheet-like substance to a conveyance passage, a roll rotation part that winds back the fed sheet-like substance, a first rotation detection part provided in the drive system of the drive roller; a second rotation detection part provided in the drive system of the roll rotation part, and a control part that controls the drives of the drive roller and the roll rotation part based on the values detected by the first rotation detection part and the second rotation detection part and the roll diameter information, the control part calculates the roll diameter value based on the values detected by the first rotation detection part and the second rotation detection part in a time required for the conveyance motion to feed out the sheet-like substance and memorizes the value as the roll diameter information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
