A purified bilirubin oxidase (BOD) electrode comprising a conducting material covered with a deposit comprising at least one BOD, said BOD having a percentage identity of at least 90% relative to the BOD from Magnaporthe oryzae of SEQ ID NO: 1, and wherein the addition, substitution, deletion or insertion of amino acids are within the N-terminal end; wherein said BOD catalyses the oxidation reaction of bilirubin to biliverdin; and wherein said BOD is bound to four copper atoms. |
