According to an embodiment of the present invention, provided is a control method of an electronic device for transmitting printing data. The control method of an electronic device comprises: a first step of receiving a printing request which requests printing of a document to be printed; a second step of checking whether a damage prevention condition for preventing thermal damage of a head of a printer is matched or not; a third step of selectively performing a first operation, which generates first printing data for printing the document to be printed, and a second operation, which generates second printing data for printing the document to be printed brighter than a printed result which is printed by the first printing data, according to whether the damage prevention condition is matched or not; and a fourth step of transmitting the generated first printing data or the generated second printing data to the printer.
