<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refining vessel and a method for treating desulfurization treatment which are capable of, in the case of performing desulfurization treatment of molten iron by using a mechanical stirring type desufurizing apparatus, efficiently dispersing an added desulfurizing agent in the molten iron and performing desulfurization treatment of the molten iron at higher desulfurizing ratio compared with the conventional method. <P>SOLUTION: The refining vessel 13 is characterized in that the thicknesses of refractories 16 constructed on the bottom part are different according to the construction position so that the inner surface shape at the bottom part is not axisymmetric to the center axis of the refining vessel. In the desulfurization treatment method, an impeller is dipped into the molten iron charged in the ladle-type refining vessel having almost circular flat cross-section with the refractory constructed therein at almost the center position of the refining vessel and the rotating shaft of the impeller is rotated in the molten iron while the shaft is kept vertical, and when the molten iron is desulfurize-treated by stirring the desulfurizing agent added to the molten iron and the molten iron, the ladle-type refining vessel in which the internal surface at the bottom part is not axisymmetric to the center axis of this refining vessel is used as the refining vessel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
