The method involves pulling a tubular film (1) on a gathering device designed as a drawing device. The drawing device is moved along a goods stack section (A) against a drawing direction after reaching an end area of goods stack (2) so that a tubular film section (15) is laid on the tubular film that lies already at the goods stack. The drawing device is connected to the goods stack section and moved along a portion of the goods stack section in the drawing direction so that another tubular film section (16) is laid on the former tubular film section.
