Provided is an ultrasonic transmitter which achieves a reduction in reverberation without being provided with new hardware for generating and applying a reverberation suppression signal. An ultrasonic transmitter (10) is provided with: a piezoelectric ceramic (110) to which a first electrode (111) and a second electrode (112) are connected; and a pulse signal generation unit (120) which generates and intermittently outputs, to the first electrode (111), a first pulse signal group (131) composed of a plurality of pulse signals, and generates and intermittently outputs, to the second electrode (112), a second pulse signal group (132) with a phase reversed to that of the first pulse signal group (131) and a frequency different therefrom. The pulse signal generation unit (120) makes the frequencies of the first pulse signal group (131) and the second pulse signal group (132) different from each other and adjusts the phases thereof such that a region in which the phase of the first pulse signal group (131) and the phase of the second pulse signal group (132) are opposite becomes gradually smaller. |
