There is provided an ultraviolet-curable ink jet composition, which is stored in an storage body, including a pigment; a pigment dispersant; a polymerizable compound; and a photopolymerization initiator, in which water content is 0.05 mass % to 1.0 mass % based on the total amount of the ultraviolet-curable ink jet composition, and in which both the acid value and the amine value of the pigment dispersant are 50 mgKOH/g or less, and at least one of the acid value and the amine value thereof is 10 mgKOH/g or more.

1. An ultraviolet-curable ink jet composition, which is stored in a storage body, comprising:
a pigment; a pigment dispersant; a polymerizable compound; and a photopolymerization initiator, wherein water content is 0.05 mass % to 1.0 mass % based on the total amount of the ultraviolet-curable ink jet composition, and wherein both the acid value and the amine value of the pigment dispersant are 50 mgKOH/g or less, and at least one of the acid value and the amine value thereof is 10 mgKOH/g or more, wherein the composition comprises a polymerizable compound having a vinyl ether group and a (meth)acrylate group as the polymerizable compound, and wherein the composition comprises a (meth)acrylic acid ester containing a vinyl ether group represented by general formula (1) below:
CH2═CR1—COOR2—O—CH═CH—R3  (1) (here, R1 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, R2 is a divalent organic residue of 2 to 20 carbon atoms, and R3 is a hydrogen atom or a monovalent organic residue of 1 to 11 carbon atoms) as the polymerizable compound having a vinyl ether group and a (meth)acrylate group.
