METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR GENERATING HOLOGRAM

A method for generating a hologram includes a step of receiving 3D image data information; a step of dividing the 3D image data into several groups having no dependency; a step of calculating hologram values to be displayed in each position of a hologram plane, from the image data of the divided groups and performing parallel arithmetic on the groups; a step of adding the hologram values calculated by the group together, with regard to each position of the hologram plane; and a step of converting the added hologram value into data for a spacial optical modulator.
