PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of detecting unmelted ore which detects fall of unmelted ore at low costs with low maintenance and a method of operating a blast furnace using the detection method.SOLUTION: A method of detecting unmelted ore comprises arranging pressure gauges 11 each in a plurality of tuyeres 2 of a blast furnace 1 to measure tuyere pressure values individually by the pressure gauges 11 and determining adhesion of unmelted ore to a tuyere part when a non-synchronous variation of the measured tuyere pressure values is detected. In the determination, the average value of the tuyere pressure values is adopted as the synchronous component of the tuyere pressure values, and non-synchronous components of the tuyere pressure values are extracted by subtracting the synchronous component (average value) from individual tuyere pressure values. |
