The present invention relates to a composition for forming a separator, a separator formed by using the composition, and a battery using the same. The present invention relates to a separator having heat insulation and strength proper to the separator, and not causing degradation of air permeability. Specifically, provided is a composition for forming a separator, comprising a low viscosity plasticizer, and a method for manufacturing a separator using the same, thereby manufacturing a separator having battery stability by improving not only air permeability, but also porosity.
