A multipurpose retension apparatus comprises: a tubular support member arranged on a pressure plate to surround an anchor head of a ground anchor, whose inner diameter becomes smaller towards the front end thereof; two or more tightening wedges inserted into a gap between the tubular support member and the anchor head to separate the tubular support member and the anchor head from each other and tapered to become thinner towards the front end thereof; and a coupling member connected to the tubular support member to transfer a tensile force supplied from a loading device to the tubular support member. The tubular support member is pulled backwards by the tensile force to allow the tightening wedges to apply a tensible force to the anchor head while the tightening wedges are tightened on a circumference of the anchor head.
