摘要 Provided is a method for handling a display cell of a flexible thin-film structure, which is capable of transferring the display cell having the flexible thin-film structure formed on a resin base together with a heat-resistant substrate, such as a glass substrate, to a next process without using an adsorbing plate having a vacuum adsorbing function. Provided is a method for laminating an optical function film to an optical display cell having a flexible thin-film structure. In this method, a cell motherboard includes a resin base, and at least one display cell formed on the resin base and having a display surface in a flexible thin-film structure, and a motherboard structure, in which the cell motherboard is supported on a heat-resistant mother substrate, is transferred in a transfer direction while the display surface of the display cell is directed upward. In this process, an adhesive layer is formed on the display surface of the display cell having the motherboard structure, which is transferred in the transfer direction. Then, while the motherboard structure in which the adhesive layer is formed on the display surface of the display cell is transferred in the transfer direction, the optical function film having a long tape shape stretching in the transfer direction contacts the adhesive layer formed on the display surface of the display cell to bond the optical function film to the display cell. The motherboard structure is transferred in the transfer direction by a movement of the optical function film while the motherboard structure is supported on a top surface by the optical function film having the long tape shape. The heat-resistant motherboard substrate is separated from the motherboard structure which is supported by the optical function film having the long tape shape and is transmitted in the transfer direction.
