Disclosed are a multimedia device, and a method for controlling the same. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the multimedia device comprises: a first microphone; a wireless communications unit wirelessly connected to a remote controller including a second microphone; a display unit for outputting video data of particular content; an audio output unit for outputting audio data of the particular content; a camera; and a control unit. The control unit controls the first microphone to receive an external audio signal so as to convert the same into electrical first audio data, controls the wireless communications unit to receive second audio data corresponding to the external audio signal from the remote controller, controls the camera to obtain an image, and controls a predetermined particular function based on the obtained image when values of the first and second audio data are different from each other. |
