The present invention relates to a method of controlling a horizontal booster pump, and more particularly, to a horizontal booster pump that is equipped with a five-way check valve and has an air exhaust function to supply the space where the horizontal booster pump is used with the incoming fluid. The horizontal booster pump according to the present invention comprises: an electric motor case that includes an electric motor inside; an impeller case of which one side is combined with the motor case and the other side has an inlet to allow a fluid to flow in and which has an outlet perpendicular to the inlet; a discharging pipe that is connected to the outlet; a shaft that is placed inside the impeller case and driven by the electric motor; an impeller that is placed inside the impeller case to face the inlet and generates discharging force, by rotating as the shaft rotates, to discharge the fluid into the discharging pipe; a check valve that is installed on the discharging pipe to prevent the fluid from flowing backward; and an air vent that has an entrance connected to a connection opening formed on the flank of the discharging pipe located between the bottom of the check valve and the outlet and automatically discharges the gas that flows in via the connection opening to prevent an air pocket from being formed in the lower portion of the check valve. The horizontal booster pump may further comprise: a pressure gauge that is connected to a port of the check valve to measure the discharge pressure of the horizontal booster pump; an inverter that regulates the rotation of the electric motor; a solenoid valve that is installed between the connection opening and the air vent; and a control unit that determines whether the horizontal booster pump ticks over based on at least one among the current flowing in the inverter and the measured discharge pressure and, based on the determination results, controls the electric motor and the solenoid valve so that the electric motor stops and the solenoid valve opens. |
