In the present invention, provided is an input/output (I/O) interceptor logic having an I/O interface, one or more temporary write holding buffers, a re-order logic section, and a flush control logic section. The I/O interface intercepts a plurality of write I/Os, and a plurality of flush requests from an application. The temporary write holding buffer stores the write I/Os provided by the I/O interface. The re-order logic section changes an order of the write I/Os stored in the temporary write holding buffer, and combines the re-ordered write I/Os into a combined write I/O. The flush control logic section notifies write I/O completion on the write I/Os before storing the write I/Os in a nonvolatile storage device, and stores the combined write I/O in the nonvolatile storage device in response to at least one among a flush request selected among the flush requests, a threshold amount of accumulated data, and expiration of a predefined time. According to the present invention, by reducing overhead occurred by each of the write I/Os, data storage performance can be increased. |
