The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for CAN communication authentication. The apparatus for CAN communication authentication comprises: a detection unit to detect a connection of a first CAN communication device; a communication unit to perform CAN communication with the first CAN communication device; and a control unit to detect a connection of the first CAN communication device by the detection unit, transmit an authentication signal to the first CAN communication device via the communication unit, calculate a key value corresponding to the authentication signal, receive a response signal for the transmitted authentication signal from the first CAN communication device via the communication unit, and compare the calculated key value with the received response signal to perform authentication for permitting CAN communication of the first CAN communication device. |
