The present invention discloses a mobile terminal and a control method of the mobile terminal. The mobile terminal includes: a touch screen; and a control unit setting an application to be mapped in a certain area of the touch screen, receiving a predetermined touch input for the certain area in the sleep mode wherein the touch screen is off, releasing the sleep mode, and executing the application mapped in the certain area. According to the present invention, the application mapped in the certain area can be executed when the touch input predetermined in the certain area of the touch screen is received. |
