The present invention relates to a functional food or a pharmaceutical composition azelaic acid as an active ingredient and, more specifically, to a health functional food and a pharmaceutical composition comprising azelaic acid as an active ingredient, having effects in dropping triglyceride accumulation, and for promoting the hydrolysis of the triglycerides in the adipose tissue through a cAMP-PKA-HSL signal delivery process by binding with azelaic acid and activating Olfr544 as GPCR expressed on a cell membrane of the adipose tissue. According to the present invention, the composition comprising azelaic acid has excellent effects in alleviating the lipid accumulation in the adipose tissue and in improving the lipid metabolism in the adipose tissue. Therefore, the composition can be efficiently used for a health functional food, a pharmaceutical composition, and a food ingredient for improving the lipid metabolism in the adipose tissue (alleviating the obesity) such as the reduction of the body weight and the reduction of the body fat. |
