The present invention relates to: a novel julolidine-based compound; a detecting agent for aluminum ions or cyanide ions using the same; a detection method using the same; and a detection device using the same. More particularly, the present invention relates to: a julolidine-based compound which has a specific selectivity to aluminum ions (Al^+3) or cyanide ions (CN^-); a detecting agent for aluminum ions (Al^+3) or cyanide ions (CN^-) using the same; a detection method using the same; and a detection device using the same. The julolidine-based compound of the present invention is represented by chemical formula 1.
