The present invention relates to a method and a device for measuring the location of coastline accurately without the burden of costs and manpower caused by direct observation using image processing. The method for measuring coastline using image processing according to the present invention comprises: a first step of generating multiple images by photographing coastline for a certain time; a second step of geometrically correcting each of the multiple images into actual terrain coordinates; a third step of generating a single average image by calculating the average values of the values of pixels included in the multiple geometrically corrected images; a fourth step of generating a BR difference image having, as brightness, the value of the pixel value of a blue-band minus the pixel value of a red-band with respect to each pixel included in the generated average image; a fifth step of extracting, from the BR difference image, multiple pixels wherein the value of pixel value of the blue-band minus the pixel value of the red-band is smaller than or equal to a predetermined value; a sixth step of calculating the variation of the value of each pixel included in the multiple images geometrically corrected in the second step, and generating a single variation image having the calculated variation values as pixel values; a seventh step of extracting multiple pixels with a variation value greater than or equal to a predetermined value from the generated variation image; and an eighth step of determining average coastline by obtaining the overlapping region of the multiple pixels extracted from the fifth step and the multiple pixels extracted from the seventh step. |
