According to an embodiment of the present invention, a method of operating a video display device including a display unit, comprises: a step of playing uncompressed audio-visual content through a first layer of the display unit; a step of obtaining content information on the uncompressed audio-visual content based on some of the uncompressed audio-visual content; a step of obtaining an additional service based on the content information; and a step of playing the obtained additional service through a second layer of the display unit, wherein the first layer and the second layer are overlapped to each other.
