The present invention relates to a seed cable management apparatus of a single crystal growth device, which can predict the time of seed cable disconnection and replace a seed cable in advance, and to a managing method thereof. The seed cable management apparatus of a single crystal growth device and the managing method thereof according to the present invention detect a modified length of the seed cable by a position detector depending on the number of revolutions of a drum around which the seed cable is wound shortly before a necking process, and determine a replacement time after a control means compares the modified length of the seed cable with reference data, thereby simply and accurately determining the disconnection time of the seed cable without an additional component. Thus, the seed cable management apparatus reduces production costs since information on the lifespan of the seed cable can be used, and has an advantage of preventing an accident that an ingot falls since the seed cable can be replaced before disconnection thereof even if the defective seed cable is used. |
