The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for managing a mobile communications service policy. The disclosed method for managing a mobile communications service policy comprises the following steps: receiving information on amount of used data traffic from a node which generates or manages charging data record for the use of data traffic through a mobile communications network of a specific subscriber; checking limit information for the use of data allocated to the specific subscriber; determining whether data use limit is expired by comparing the information on amount of used data traffic with the limit information; generating a traffic control policy according to limit expiration when the data use limit is expired; and transmitting rule information generated by the traffic control policy based on the generated limit expiration to a node for controlling data traffic. In this manner, traffic control rule information according to use limit expiration is generated and provided without intervention of a subscriber management node, and actual traffic control for a limit expiration circuit can be immediately performed. Thus, a process delay time while the actual traffic control is performed for a limit setting circuit in which use limit is expired can be minimized. |
