PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dermatologically and toxicologically harmless substance that supports antimicrobial activity of antimicrobial substance(s) in order to keep low the total amount of the anti-microbial substance(s) in cosmetic, dermatological or pharmaceutical products.SOLUTION: The above problem is solved by a liquid composition containing a) 40-99.9 wt.% of sorbitan monocaprylate and b) 0.1-60 wt.% of one or more antimicrobial substances selected from the group consisting of b1) to b5), where b1) is a specified organic acid and salt thereof; b2) a specified formaldehyde donor, b3) a specified isothiazolinone; b4) a specified paraben ester and salt thereof, and b5) a specified pyridone and salt thereof. The liquid composition is suitable for the production of cosmetic, dermatological or pharmaceutical products.SELECTED DRAWING: None
