A process of making cogongrass (lmperata Imperatae) rhizome tea powder comprising the steps of: cleaning a plurality of cogan rhizomes with tap water and removing the outer layer covering of said cogongrass rhizomes, cutting said cleaned cogongrass rhizomes into small pieces using a scissor or a sharp knife, boiling said cogongrass rhizomes in water using a pot in predetermined ratio for 2 to 4 hours in a very low heat until a brown tea is created, removing two-thirds of the said boiled cogan rhizomes from the pot, squeezing the liquid from the said removed cogan rhizomes using a fine cloth into the pot, boiling said remaining boiled cogongrass rhizome for 1 to 2 hours until the liquid level is reduces to 2/3 of its volume, cooling said boiled mixture at room temperature until 80-100 degrees Fahrenheit, blending said boiled mixture using a ladle until a creamy consistency is achieved, pouring said blended mixture in a glass baking pan, oven drying said blended mixture at 80-120 degrees Fahrenheit until completely dried, grinding said hardened mixture using a grinder until a powder consistency is obtained and packing said powdered mixture in an air-tight containers. |
